Abstract
This research employs a quantitative approach using a census sampling technique, involving 85 employees from a four-star hotel in Bali, Indonesia. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.
The findings reveal that the work environment has a positive and significant effect on work-life balance and job satisfaction. Additionally, work-life balance significantly influences job satisfaction and partially mediates the relationship between the work environment and job satisfaction.
The novelty of this study lies in integrating work-life balance as a mediating mechanism in the relationship between work environment and job satisfaction within the hospitality context, particularly in emerging tourism destinations. The results provide practical implications for hospitality managers to improve workplace conditions and support employees’ work-life balance in order to enhance job satisfaction.
