Abstract

Our mental impulses, worry probably gets the least respect. We chide overly nervous people for being worrywarts; too much rumination causes worry lines. Unrelenting worry is one of the primary features of Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). New research underscores the idea that holding positive beliefs about worryβ€”believing it helps to function as a better person and avoid negative things in lifeβ€”contributes to maintaining worry and anxiety.
