To study the prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors among the studied group. 4. To study the chest roentgenogram, electrocardiogram and echocardiographic finding of the same patients. Design: Cross – sectional prospective study of 80 patients with Systemic Hypertension. Setting and Method: The Study was done at Osh Regional Integrated Clinical Hospital and Osh City Territorial Clinical Hospital of The Kyrgyz Republic. Eighty patients fulfilling the criteria of high blood pressure on repeated measurement on two different occasions were enrolled in the study. They underwent routine and special investigations to look for cardiovascular risk factors and cardiovascular complications which included laboratory studies, chest x-ray electrocardiogram and echocardiography. Conclusion: Hypertension is a major cardiovascular risk factor. Cardiovascular complications were significantly increased in the presence of other cardiovascular risk factors compared to patients without risk factors.
