Abstract
As we know orthodontics was the first speciality in dentistry there were many innovations tookfor the progress needed to make the speciality. Hence innovations in the archwires was very important. The original archwires used in orthodontics were made of gold but metallurgical advances have meant that a wide range of metal alloys are now available. This article reviews about the evolution and progress made in the archwires for orthodontic tooth movement.
